National Workshop to improve governance of tenure with the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security held at Kempinski Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw for two days (From 15 to 16 February, 2017) was aiming at the followings:
- Familiarization of the audience with
- Development process of the VGGT
- The context and detailed contents of the VGGT; and
- How the VGGT can be used in Myanmar
- Visioning how the future may look like with secure tenure rights
The participants attended at the meeting were from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and other relevant actors in the country. They mainly discussed how to promote and facilitate the legitimate tenure rights, how to use VGGT in Myanmar and visioning by using “Rich Capture” of Myanmar with secure tenure rights in the next five years.
